The façade lighting at Umaria Railway Station was designed to give the station a distinctive and visually striking identity after sunset. The lighting concept highlights the architectural character of the building while creating a welcoming and prominent presence within the surrounding environment.
Inspired by the Indian Tricolor, the façade is illuminated in shades of saffron, white, and green, bringing together architectural expression and a strong sense of national identity.
Lighting Approach
A combination of uplighting and linear wall-washing techniques was used to illuminate the façade with consistency and depth. The carefully directed illumination accentuates key architectural elements, outlines the building's form, and helps maintain a balanced visual appearance across the structure.
High-intensity and uniform illumination ensures that the façade remains clearly defined against the night sky while minimizing uneven patches and maintaining continuity across the illuminated surfaces.
