The architectural lighting at Chinna Salem Railway Station was designed to enhance the visual character of the station entrance and create a distinctive presence after sunset. A vibrant magenta-pink lighting theme brings a contemporary expression to the facade while highlighting the structural composition of the entrance porch.
Rather than illuminating the entire structure uniformly, the lighting approach focuses on key architectural elements, allowing the building's columns, borders, and entrance geometry to stand out naturally at night.
Lighting Approach
The lighting scheme combines architectural accent lighting, linear strip lighting, and uplighting to create a balanced and well-defined facade.
Linear lighting integrated along the upper borders creates a continuous illuminated outline across the entrance, while strategically positioned uplighters emphasize the lower sections of the columns. Together, these lighting layers frame the architectural elements and add depth and definition to the overall facade.
The magenta-pink illumination further strengthens the station's nighttime identity, giving the entrance a vibrant yet structured visual appearance.
